Almost Done

Sorry about the lack of updates for a really long time. We've been working on OpenGL in C, and we think we're almost done now. There will be a noticeable difference in speed with lots of particles. All of the fixes that were supposed to come in November will also be here too.

Windows Mobile

I have been using windows mobile on phones for awhile now. Just a few weeks ago, I got the LG Incite, running windows mobile 6.1. For about five minutes, the phone runs fine. I open up a few applications, download opera mobile, and try out the media player. A little bit later though, every thing starts to slow down. I check out the task manager, and find that nothing actually closes when I hit the "x" button. Wow.... Efficient.

On a related note, it's really hard to find the software to develop for a pocket pc. Maybe if they made it a bit easier, like apple did for the iphone, there would be more good applications for pocket pc.

Hey, it's my opinion!

Today's post is on something that has been bothering me for awhile now. Some people, for whatever reason, seem to believe that their opinion is always valid. When one questions it, or challenge it, they might say, "Hey it's my opinion, you're allowed to your have your own, and I will have mine." In preschool, maybe they were taught that this was okay. Sadly, it's not. Regardless of weather you think the earth is flat, the earth is still a sphere, therefore, your opinion is not valid. Okay? Good.

Examples of a time when someone said something like this:

Ray - USA is really still very racist, if we were not, having a black president would not be a big deal!

Me -
No that's called being blind, an example of racism would be if he had not gotten as many votes simply because of his race.

Ray - Racism is when people recognize that a person is of a different race!

... goes on for awhile

Ray - Hey it's my opinion, you're allowed to your have your own, and I will have mine!

Me - ...

Something I thought of in French Class

So, I was sitting in French class, and my teacher had forgotten to tell us the homework, but had put it up on her site. She did not expect us to check the site every day, so she just gave us another day to complete it. That got me thinking about a way to, in a low power, cost efficient way to get something from a website, like an RSS feed to a large, non-illuminated screen for a classroom. What I cam up with was something that is like a rolling screen belt. The screen would be composed of many pixels on a belt that could be changed in color by a jolt of electricity*. The belt would have a device to change the color of the pixel on one end that would get input from a computer.

This solution would be both low energy cost and pleasing to the eye. I'll put picture of the plans up later.
